The brand preserves ancient techniques of painting with natural stone pigments, drawing inspiration from the artistic essence of Dunhuang murals and Fahai Temple frescoes to inform contemporary expression. Working with natural mineral pigments as the primary medium, JIWU employs methods such as heavy-color layering to achieve the distinctive texture, depth, and high saturation unique to ground stone particles. In collaboration with official pigment suppliers including Shanqu, the studio offers professional courses from beginner to advanced levels, opening a doorway to the mysterious and vibrant world of Eastern mineral color.
