In addition, the lamp uses Sowden's new DUAL FUNCTIONALITY technology, which allows the lamp to be used both as a table lamp and a portable lamp. When the lamp is used as fixed lighting, the dual functionality allows for direct connection to a power source with a USB cable. When the USB is disconnected, the lamp automatically switches to using the included batteries. When used as a portable lamp, it is particularly suitable for places without access to an electrical power source. After use, the USB must be reconnected for charging.
